Asnuntuck Community College has announced that the following full and part-time students have achieved Dean’s List status following their fall semester of studies. Full-time students, who are matriculated in a certificate or degree program and who have successfully completed 12 or more credits of work in a semester with a grade point average of 3.4 or above are named to the list.

Asnuntuck Community College Foundation announces their 17th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, July 10, 2017. The event will have a shotgun start at 12:00 noon at Twin Hills Country Club, Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Cost to participate in the golf tournament is $135.00. Greens fees, golf cart, lunch, social hour, drawings, prizes and dinner are included. A portion of the fee is tax deductible.

Asnuntuck Community College (ACC), held its first commencement ceremony for its Second Chance graduates. This past fall ACC began to offer a variety of certificate programs to incarcerated individuals as part of a federal pilot program known as “Second Chance Pell.” Asnuntuck was one of sixty-seven schools selected nationwide by the White House to participate. This initiative seeks to equip inmates with job skills necessary to become contributing members of society upon their release.

Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP)

The Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP) in Maricopa County is a joint project of Community Legal Services and the Maricopa County Bar Association.

Direct Legal Representation

Represent clients with problems related to housing, employment, consumer issues, debt collection, bankruptcy, tax, tort defense, and family law/domestic violence.

Bankruptcy Reaffirmation Services – Friends of the Court

Lawyers with 5 or more years experience in consumer bankruptcy, mentor law students and serve with them as Friends of the Court in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Help unrepresented litigants understand their options, and address the court to assist the judge in understanding the petitioner’s current circumstances.

Children’s Law Center

Serve as a Court Appointed Advisor (CAA) regarding the best interests of children in high conflict family law cases, and make recommendations to the court. Represent non-parent caretakers in becoming legal guardians of children in their care. Represent petitioners in adoption matters.

Volunteer for special programs focusing on a variety of other legal concerns of young children and teenagers.

Debt Collection and Bankruptcy – Financial Distress Clinics

Provide advice to individuals and families seeking counsel about debt management or defense. Where relief from wage garnishment is needed, recommend or help provide representation in no asset bankruptcy petitions.

Domestic Violence Attorney Mentoring Project

Be a mentor or work with a mentor to provide representation for victims of domestic violence.

Family Law Assistance Project (FLAP)

Lawyer practicing family law for 5 or more years in Arizona, provide half-hour consultations, including advice and brief services, to unrepresented litigants in family law cases. Volunteer at Superior Courts in central Phoenix, northeast Phoenix and Mesa.

HIV/AIDS Law Project

Assist individuals living with HIV or AIDS. Prepare basic wills and health care powers of attorney documents, and advise or represent individuals regarding other civil law issues impacting their health.

Tenants’ Rights Clinics

Provide advice and brief service to help families obtain safe housing conditions, understand their responsibilities and exercise their rights. Tenant education materials include a layman’s handbook with sample letters designed to assist tenants in their communications with landlords.


Direct Legal Representation

Represent clients with family law cases involving custody disputes and/or allegations of domestic abuse; file bankruptcy petitions to prevent client’s wages from garnishment or homes from foreclosure; represent clients in adult or minor guardianship cases to protect children or vulnerable adults. Help CLS expand pro bono case referral in cases such as housing, employment and consumer/debt collection.

Free Ask-a-Lawyer Advice Clinics

Participate in periodic free legal advice clinics. Advise clients in family law, guardianships, consumer issues, debt collection/bankruptcy, and housing and landlord/tenant issues.

Direct Legal Representation

Represent clients with guardianship, family law, housing, and Social Security disability cases.

Ombudsman Program

Provide information and review legal documents for unrepresented litigants in all civil legal matters. The program is held at the Yavapai County Superior Courthouse in Prescott and assists interested persons regardless of income.

Law Day – Free Legal Advice Clinics

Participate in annual Law Day in Prescott, Prescott Valley and other communities in Yavapai County. Volunteer and CLS attorneys advise clients in all types of law, depending on the expertise of the participating attorneys. Advice is offered to all interested persons regardless of income.

Case Consultations or Direct Legal Representation

Consult with CLS attorneys or provide representation in consumer, tenant, and family law matters.

Law Week – Free Ask-a-Lawyer Advice Clinics

Participate in periodic free legal advice clinics. Provide advice regarding family law, guardianship, consumer, debt collection/bankruptcy, home ownership and landlord/tenant issues.

    If you started your coursework in the academic year 2017-2018, in most cases you can refer to the degree and certificate programs below or any degree or certificate program available after the 2017-2018 academic year.     Associate in Arts/Associate in Science Degrees

    The Associate in Arts (AA) and the Associate in Science (AS) degrees are primarily transfer degrees designed for students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a baccalaureate degree. Students completing these degrees will also satisfy the Michigan Transfer Agreement between the majority of two-year and four-year institutions in Michigan.

    General education and subject area requirements vary from one college or university to another. Students should contact the school to which they may transfer for specific transfer institution requirements (See Transfer Information for a list of institutions for which transfer guides are available.)

    Applied Degrees and Certificates

    The associate degree in applied arts, associate degree in applied science, associate degree in business, and certificates are designed primarily for students who seek education and the acquisition of skills needed to enter the job market or to advance their current careers. Not all courses in these programs transfer to all colleges. Students planning to transfer should see an academic advisor before enrolling in any course.

    For 2017 curricula onward, the following CANNOT be used for any certificate or degree requirements:
    1) courses in Mathematics or Statistics that are not listed on the LCC General Education Core or the Michigan Transfer Agreement .
    2) courses whose prerequisites do not include college-level reading (Reading Level 5), except Physical Fitness activity courses, career or technical courses, and courses in business, arts, music, and theater.
