Your World. Your Love.

There are so many profiles on Dating.com… I like to browse through them carefully and select the most eligible person to talk to.

  • My dating prospects in Tennessee were getting pretty poor, so I decided to try dating globally… I met Olivier from France on Dating.com and we can’t stop messaging each other!
  • Dating.com brings out the sense of adventure in me! The website is so easy to use and the possibility of meeting someone from another culture that relates to me is simply thrilling.
  • It is really cool to meet different people who come from different backgrounds than your own but have similar interests and values.

  • Dating isn’t about data. It isn’t about algorithms. It isn’t about how many friends you have in common, or whether you want a boy or a girl or no kids at all, it isn’t about how tall someone is or the color or their hair, and it isn’t about finding the one .

Dating is a chance a chance to meet someone new, a chance for them to introduce you to people, places and things that you never knew that you’d love. It’s the chance that you won’t like them and that they won’t like you. And it’s the chance that they will and that you will too. It’s the chance to spend time together maybe a lifetime but maybe just an hour. It’s the chance to meet anyone, anywhere in the world. It’s the chance that there might be more out there, something you’ve never even imagined.

Are these the two most eligible singles in the Big Apple?

Researchers at the dating site PlentyOfFish think so after crunching numbers to solve that age-old head-scratcher — what’s the best way to win at the game of love?

What they found is that the “most desirable” single gal in New York City is a 25-year-old Catholic who owns a pooch, is fit and boozes it up about three times a week. In order to get the largest number of messages from suitors, she should also hold a graduate degree, earn between $50,000 and $75,000 and have been in a relationship for at least three years — but no longer than eight.

Upper West Side stunner Lindsay Tigar fits the bill — except she’s Methodist.

“I’m not opposed to converting, at all,” said Tigar, 25 a digital editor, blogger and proud owner of a Pomeranian mix named Lucy. “If it’s important to him, it can be important to me.”

But if she’s so desirable, why is she still single?

For one thing, the North Carolina native is in no rush to get hitched.

“I always have a pup to cuddle at night, no matter how bad a date is. I want to be a great Ms. Right for myself before I become the Mrs. Right for a man,” she said.

Meanwhile, the most desirable man is a 23- to 35-year-old athletic Christian with brown hair who says he wants children, drinks socially, has an advanced degree and makes between $100,000 and $150,000 a year.

That’s Upper West Side hunk Thomas Lautenschlager, a sales engineer who moved to the city eight months ago and has been on about 80 dates.

But he’s ready to find “the one” — a good thing, since men who want a relationship get 38 percent more messages, researchers found.

“I want to find a best friend that I like to have sex with and to share life experiences with. That pretty much sums up what everyone is looking for,” the 34-year-old Indiana native said.

PlentyOfFish analyzed message volume between 81,000 straight singles across the US between the ages of 25 and 35 in order to discover which attributes are considered most desirable in 2014.

“The study really identified numerous gender biases that we would expect to move past as a society in the 21st century,” said Sarah Gooding, a spokeswoman for the site.

The shocking finding: “Men were really seeking out women who are young and thin,” she said.

The biggest advantage for women is their waistline — those who describe themselves as thin receive a whopping 41 percent more messages.

For guys, it’s more about a fat wallet. Men who earn between $100,000 and $150,000 a year attract 42 percent more messages than poorer schmoes.

Thomas Lautenschlager, 34, Upper West Side

Why the site says he s desirable: Wants a serious relationship; is Christian; has brown hair and an athletic build; makes over $100,000.

What he says is his desirable trait: His height — 6-foot-1 — and positive outlook.

Lindsay Tigar, 25, Upper West Side

Why the site says she’s desirable: Her age; fit; has been in a relationship at least three years but not longer than eight; dog owner; not a teetotaller.

What she says is her desirable trait: from the South [she’s from North Carolina] made me sweet and compassionate — but moving to New York made me strong and full of fire.”
