Recovery for Excel Description

Recovery for Excel is designed for effective data recovery from corrupted Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Using Recovery for Excel allows to avoid the loss of important information. Nowadays Microsoft Excel textual processor is the most widespread tool for creation any types of spreadsheets, including corporate spreadsheets.

Recovery for Excel scans, analyzes the corrupted file and exports all available data from the file. If the spreadsheet is strongly damaged, some data loss is inevitable. All restored data is saved into a new xls or xlsx spreadsheet. After the recovery the spreadsheet becomes available for processing. Recovery for Excel repairs text, numbers and formulas, merged cells, comments, frozen rows and columns, embedded images, filter settings, sheet names, images, hyperlinks and so on.

The important fact is that the program only analyzes the damaged file and does not change the original data. Recovery for Excel works with text files of various formats: Microsoft Excel spreadsheets of different versions (.xls. xlsx and .xla files).

What if no data to recover detected in your damaged excel file? You can order a file review by our technical team. In some cases it is possible to retrieve data only manually.

Recovery for Excel Tool Demo Explained

The demo result allows to evaluate recoverability of a particular corrupted excel file.

There are two typical outcomes of using the demo results:

  1. A limited amount of actual data will be fixed from the damaged excel file. Other fixed data will be presented as placeholders labeled “demo”;
  2. Data analysis will find the document impossible to fix. “No data to recover” message will be shown in that case.

OfficeRecovery Fix and Recover Excel Files

At first a very important point is to define whether your xls, xlsx or xla file is corrupted. A excel file is corrupted when it has inconsistencies that make it impossible to open it with Microsoft Excel. If while trying to open your xls, xlsx or xla file you got an error message or the application crashed or the file could open as a mix of random characters, all these are typical symptoms of your excel file corruption.

The good news is that in most cases a half of corrupted excel files aren’t lost completely. And Recovery for Excel was exactly created to fix and restore the remaining non-corrupted data from damaged xls, xlsx or xla files. You will get your data back and will be able to open it with Microsoft Excel without any errors.

Using Recovery for Excel

  1. Backup the corrupted spreadsheet(s) before proceeding with any recovery activities. Use reliable non-local media such as CD or network drive to store backups.
  2. Start Recovery for Excel.
  3. Select the Recover. item in the File menu. A file selection dialog will open.
  4. Select the spreadsheet corrupted and press “Recover” button.
  5. Wait until the file processing is completed.
  6. When prompted, save the recovered spreadsheet, assigning it a new name. By default, Recovery for Excel adds “Recovered” to the file name, i.e. “Corrupted spreadsheet.XLS” will be saved as “Recovered Corrupted spreadsheet.XLS”

Questions And Answers

Can Recovery for Excel repair my Excel spreadsheet?

The effective way to find out if a Excel spreadsheet is recoverable is to try the demo version of Recovery for Excel on it. Visit the Demo page for a free copy of the demo.

Product specifications with lists of items recovered and not recovered is available at the Product Information page.

Note: Always backup your original corrupted Excel spreadsheet before proceeding with any recovery activity!

What limitations does the demo version of Recovery for Excel have?

The demo version fixes limited amount of cells in the broken spreadsheet while replacing data in others with demo placeholder. Commercial version will recover demo-limited data as well.

No additional records, stylesheets or other elements and formatting of the original spreadsheet will be recovered by commercial version of Recovery for Excel if not present in demo output.

I have tried the demo. How do I decide whether to purchase the full version of Recovery for Excel?

Evaluating the results of demo recovery can help in making the decision.

What are the differences between product licenses?

Details of current licensing scheme are described at the Licensing page.

Why do results of recovery contain less data than the original Excel spreadsheet?

This is normal. The damaged parts of your Excel spreadsheet will convert to zero size on output. The other common reason of file size decrease is when some of features of the original spreadsheet are not supported and therefore absent from the recovered spreadsheet.
Demo-recovered spreadsheet is smaller because it mostly consists of demo placeholders than actual data.

Running Recovery for Excel from command line (through Windows Start – Run menu).

If your license type is Enterprise or Service, you can run Recovery for Excel from command line and use these calls in your batch files. Standard version does not support command line. The format for command line call is:

xr.exe original filename with path ” path to directory to store the recovered file(s) “ (without angle brackets).

Please note that the directory for recovered file(s) should be created before starting the recovery.

Command line mode supports patterns ‘*’ (replaces group of symbols) and ‘?’ (replaces one symbol).

Recovered spreadsheet causes Excel application crash. Is there a workaround for this?

Try to restore the original corrupted file in a Safe mode. In this mode Recovery for Excel replaces complicated formulae with their values. To enable this option, check the appropriate checkbox while selecting the file to recover.

Please, note, that the necessity of Safe mode usage is an extraordinary case! Therefore, we would appreciate it greatly if you contact our technical support team with the detailed description of the problem occurred.

If you have questions about Drug Rehab Options or are ready to place yourself or a loved one into treatment, please call 1-800-610-4673 for immediate help. Don’t wait, speak to an addiction treatment counselor right now.

Drug rehab enables men and women with drug addictions to learn how to abstain from drug use and live happy and productive lives. Drug rehab (also drug rehabilitation ) is not a cure for the disease of drug addiction, but rather a powerful tool for arresting and reversing the progression of the disease. It aims to teach addicts and alcoholics ways to cope with daily stresses, pressures, disappointments, and dramas without resorting to further substance abuse. The lessons taught in a drug rehab program are intended to be applied and practiced on a daily basis.

Drug Rehab – What is it?

Drug rehab is a supportive approach to treatment and recovery from chemical dependency through the guidance of experts and the support of peers. It is the umbrella term given to the process of biological, psychological and social rehabilitation from addictive substances for drug addicts and alcoholics. No matter what the substance abused, treatment is usually the key to recovery for individuals and families suffering from drug abuse and alcoholism. For drug rehab programs to be effective addicts must enter the rehabilitation process with honesty, open-mindedness, and most importantly, willingness ; treatment only beomes effective when an addict becomes willing to surrender to the reality of his or her current condition.

The key to effective rehabilitation is a program’s ability to help an addict gain an understanding of what’s driving the addiction in the first place – namely the unmanageable behaviors and thought processes inherrent to addiction. Drug rehab centers offer levels of care ranging from detoxification and basic outpatient programs through intensive long-term residential treatment. The ultimate goal of all of these is to enable the individual in recovery to live a life free from the negative conseqences of drug and alcohol abuse.

Drug addiction is a disease, and like any other disease, it requires treatment to arrest it’s progress and reverse it’s negative effects. Drug rehabilitation is therefore an essential first step in the recovery process. Most treatment methodologies teach addicts that the process which takes place in a rehab center must continue long after the completion of formal treatment for the best chance of success, and that long-term recovery requires vigilance and continuing practice for the remainder of the recovering addict’s life. Addicts who find success in recovery are those who commit themselves honestly and wholeheartedly to the struggle for sobriety and freedom from the chains of addiction.

Drug Rehab Programs

The most successful drug rehab programs take a multidisciplinary approach to the comprehensive health of the addict, focusing on helping addicts to develop and practice the mental and emotional skills necessary for long-term recovery. There are thousands of drug rehab programs and alcoholism treatment centers located throughout the United States and the world, employing widely differing methodologies for treatment. Examples of different types of drug rehab programs include outpatient, day treatment, full-hospitalization inpatient, residential short-term, and residential long-term treatment. Short-term residential drug rehabilitation programs offer intensive but relatively brief (usually 28-30 days) treatment, commonly based on a 12-step approach. Short-term drug rehab programs intensively focus on the most basic aspects of recovery, including detoxification, life skills building, abstinence and relapse prevention. Long-term residential drug rehab programs focus on the same issues, but are more comprehensive over a longer period of time, and also tend to focus more heavily on relapse prevention and goal setting in recovery for success post-treatment. Long-term drug rehab programs often last six months or longer, and most offer an aftercare program for continuing support following the individual’s stay at the drug rehab center itself.

The Drug Rehab Process – Detoxification

The drug and alcohol rehab process should always start with detoxification and medical stabilization as its first step. Detox is the process of withdrawing alcohol and drugs from the brain and body. Detox from alcohol and most drugs requires medical supervision, and often includes one on one and group counseling in which the addict in withdrawal can discuss and receive support for the feelings they encounter during the detoxification process. Before they can begin the actual treatment phase, an addict must rid their body of the poisons and chemical byproducts produced by drugs and alcohol (in fact, alcohol and many drugs are technically poisons in their own right). The detox portion of the rehabilitation process can take days, weeks, or in rare cases even months, depending on the drug of abuse and length of the abuse, and the addict’s tolerance to the drug.

Drug Rehab Philosophy and Methods

Drug rehab programs differ in their treatment philosophies, methodologies, rehabilitation services offered, and populations treated. For a drug rehab program to be successful, it must incorporate intensive addiction counseling and education services, with a focus on nurturing personal growth and life skills. The most successful centers offer aftercare or continuing care programs in which some degree of counseling services or group recovery continues post-treatment. Aftercare is an essential part of the rehab process as it helps the addict to apply what they’ve learned in rehab to real life. When choosing a drug rehab program, it is important to do comprehensive research to understand the similarities and differences between individual centers, and the rehabilitation philosophies and methods they employ.

Inpatient and Residential Drug Rehab Programs

Inpatient or residential drug rehab is the most successful form of treatment for long-term drug abuse. Inpatient treatment is where a person actually checks in and lives at a drug rehab facility exclusively for a period of time and learns to apply recovery tools, studies relapse prevention and identifies relapse triggers, and participates in an intensive counseling and therapy intended to arrest the progress of drug addiction. At inpatient drug rehab centers, professional treatment and counseling is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Inpatient treatment centers are especially effective because they provide environments in which addicts with a common goal of recovery can support one another in the rehabilitation process daily.

Questions about Detoxifiction or Treatment Programs? We are here to answer them. Call 1-800-610-4673

Outpatient Drug Rehab Programs

Low-intensity outpatient programs may offer little more than drug education and admonition. Some outpatient models, such as intensive day treatment, can be comparable to residential drug rehab programs in services offered and clinical effectiveness, depending on the individual addict’s specific needs.

Getting Help

Drug rehab is in a very real fashion an addict’s best hope for recovery, and as such, self-realization is an indispensable part of the addiction recovery process. Drug addiction is an equal-opportunity disease, affecting people regardless of race, color or creed, and anyone who makes the mistake of believing that a drug rehab program is for “the other person ” is walking a very fine line. Here at treatment-centers.net, we offer comprehensive, no-cost services for assessment and referral to drug rehab centers. If you are in need of drug rehab services, please explore our site, fill out our confidential online drug and alcohol assessment. and by all means, CALL US – we’re here to help.

Backup, restore, and disaster recovery

Applies to: Exchange Server 2016

Summary: An overview of Exchange features you can use to protect your data.

Data protection planning is a complex process that relies on many decisions that you make during the planning phase of your deployment. As part of your planning, it’s important that you understand the ways in which data can be protected, and to determine which method best suits your organization’s needs.

Traditionally, backups have been used for the following scenarios:

Disaster recovery In the event of a hardware or software failure, multiple database copies in a DAG enable high availability with fast failover and little or no data loss. This eliminates downtime and the resulting lost productivity that’s a significant cost of recovering from a past point-in-time backup to disk or tape. DAGs can be extended to multiple sites and can provide resilience against disk, server, network, and datacenter failures.

Recovery of accidentally deleted items Historically, in a situation where a user deleted items that later needed to be recovered, it involved finding the backup media on which the data that needed to be recovered was stored, and then somehow obtaining the desired items and providing them to the user. With the new Recoverable Items folder in Exchange 2016 and the Hold Policy that can be applied to it, it’s possible to retain all deleted and modified data for a specified period of time, so recovery of these items is easier and faster. This reduces the burden on Exchange administrators and the IT help desk by enabling end users to recover accidentally deleted items themselves, thereby reducing the complexity and administrative costs associated with single item recovery. For more information, see Messaging policy and compliance in Exchange 2016 and Data loss prevention .

Long-term data storage Backups have also been used as an archive, and typically tape is used to preserve point-in-time snapshots of data for extended periods of time as governed by compliance requirements. The new archiving, multiple-mailbox search, and message retention features in Exchange 2016 provide a mechanism to efficiently preserve data in an end-user accessible manner for extended periods of time. This eliminates expensive restores from tape, and increases productivity. For more information, see In-Place Archiving in Exchange 2016. In-Place eDiscovery in Exchange 2016. and In-Place Hold and Litigation Hold in Exchange 2016 .

Point-in-time database snapshot If a past point-in-time copy of mailbox data is a requirement for your organization, Exchange provides the ability to create a lagged database copy in a DAG environment. This can be useful in the rare event that store logical corruption replicates to multiple database copies in the DAG, resulting in a need to return to a previous point in time. It may also be useful if an administrator accidentally deletes mailboxes or user data. Recovery from a lagged copy can be faster than restoring from a backup because lagged copies don’t require a time-consuming copy process from the backup server to the Exchange server. This can significantly lower total cost of ownership by reducing downtime.

Because there are native Exchange 2016 features that meet each of these scenarios in an efficient and cost effective manner, you may be able to reduce or eliminate the use of traditional backups in your environment.

Microsoft’s preferred architecture for Exchange Server 2016 leverages a concept known as Exchange Native Data Protection. Exchange Native Data Protection relies on built-in Exchange features to protect your mailbox data, without the use of backups (although you can still use those features and make backups). Exchange 2016 includes several features that, when deployed and configured correctly, can provide native data protection that eliminates the need to make traditional backups of your data. Using the high availability features built into Exchange 2016 to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a disaster can also reduce the total cost of ownership of the messaging system. By combining these features with other built-in features, such as Legal Hold, you can reduce or eliminate your use of traditional point-in-time backups and reduce the associated costs.

In addition to determining whether Exchange 2016 enables you to move away from traditional point-in-time backups, we recommend that you evaluate the cost of your current backup infrastructure. Consider the cost of end-user downtime and data loss when attempting to recover from a disaster using your existing backup infrastructure. Also, include hardware, installation, and license costs, as well as the management cost associated with recovering data and maintaining the backups. Depending on the requirements of your organization, it’s quite likely that a pure Exchange 2016 environment with at least three mailbox database copies will provide lower total cost of ownership than one with backups.

There are several issues that you should consider before using the features built into Exchange 2016 as a replacement for traditional backups. There may also be considerations unique to your organization. Consider the following issues, and note that this isn’t an exhaustive list:

You should determine how many copies of the database need to be deployed. We strongly recommend deploying a minimum of three (non-lagged) copies of a mailbox database before eliminating traditional forms of protection for the database, such as Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) or traditional VSS-based backups.

You should clearly define the recovery time objective and recovery point objective goals, and you should establish that using a combined set of built-in features in lieu of traditional backups to enable you to meet these goals.

You should determine how many copies of each database are needed to cover the various failure scenarios against which your system is designed to protect.

You should determine whether eliminating the use of a DAG or some of its members captures sufficient costs to support a traditional backup solution. If so, you should determine whether that solution improves your recovery time objective or recovery point objective service level agreements (SLAs).

You should determine whether you can afford to lose a point-in-time copy if the DAG member hosting the copy experiences a failure that affects the copy or the integrity of the copy.

Exchange 2016 allows you to deploy much larger mailboxes, with a recommended maximum mailbox database size of 2 terabytes (when two or more highly available mailbox database copies are being used). Based on the larger mailboxes that most organizations are likely to deploy, you should determine your recovery point objective if you have to replay a large number of log files when activating a database copy or a lagged database copy.

You should determine how you’ll detect and prevent logical corruption in an active database copy from replicating to the passive copies of the database. This includes determining the recovery plan for this situation and how frequently this scenario has occurred in the past. If logical corruption occurs frequently in your organization, we recommend that you factor that scenario into your design by using one or more lagged copies, with a sufficient replay lag window to allow you to detect and act on logical corruption when it occurs, but before that corruption is replicated to other database copies.

One of the functions performed at the end of a successful full or incremental backup is the truncation of transaction log files that are no longer needed for database recovery. If backups aren’t being taken, log truncation won’t occur. To prevent a buildup of log files, you enable circular logging for your replicated databases. When you combine circular logging with continuous replication, you have a new type of circular logging called continuous replication circular logging (CRCL), which is different from Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) circular logging. Whereas ESE circular logging is performed and managed by the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, CRCL is performed and managed by the Microsoft Exchange Replication service. When enabled, ESE circular logging doesn’t generate additional log files and instead overwrites the current log file when needed. However, in a continuous replication environment, log files are needed for log shipping and replay. As a result, when you enable CRCL, the current log file isn’t overwritten and closed log files are generated for the log shipping and replay process.

Specifically, the Microsoft Exchange Replication service manages CRCL so that log continuity is maintained and logs aren’t deleted if they’re still needed for replication. The Microsoft Exchange Replication service and the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service communicate by using remote procedure calls (RPCs) regarding which log files can be deleted.

For truncation to occur on highly available (non-lagged) mailbox database copies, the following must be true:

The log file has been backed up, or CRCL is enabled.

The log file is below the checkpoint.

The other non-lagged copies of the database agree with deletion.

The log file has been inspected by all lagged copies of the database.

For truncation to occur on lagged database copies, the following must be true:

The log file is below the checkpoint.

The log file is older than ReplayLagTime + TruncationLagTime.

Maxtor hard drives support a USB 2.0 connection and allow you transfer files at blazing speeds of up to 7200RPM. The main components of a Maxtor hard drive are including: platter, spindle, head actuator arm, actuator axis, and actuator. (The picture is showing below). The way for storing data on Maxtor hard drives is that: the head will read and write data from and into the disk platters which are made from a solid, non-magnetic material, normally aluminum or glass.

Most of the Maxtor hard disk drive users must be troubled if they had lost the data stored on it accidentally. In fact, there are two main reasons for Maxtor hard drive data lost: logical and physical. Logical failure is usually because of a file-system corruption, virus, accidental formatting of the drive or deletion. But the Maxtor hard drive can be still recognized by the system BIOS, the logical problem just leads the Maxtor hard drive inaccessible. For example: sometimes it is necessary to format the partition when we reinstall the operating system or convert partition from FAT to NTFS, if we don’t pay attention, and of course all the data will be lost after the formatting. It is also unavoidable that we may find the useful and precious data have been deleted after a few quick clicks. We may also lose our data after the virus infection. If the system BIOS does not identify the presence of the hard drive and your Maxtor hard drive is being inoperative, your Maxtor hard drive must be physically damaged.

If you have lost the data due to Maxtor hard drive accidental deletion, virus attacks, formatting, partition lost and operating system corruption, etc. Or you cannot point out the reason for Maxtor hard drive data lost, compared with the complicated and long time waiting manual data recovery, you may try some data recovery software first to recover your Maxtor hard disk drives. DiskGetor Data Recovery will start a professional data recovery process immediately. It is powerful data recovery software to retrieve the data from Maxtor hard disk drives safely and easily. With its abundant functions, it can also recover deleted, lost, damaged and formatted data from hard drive or partition. Even if you have written new data into that hard drive or partition, DiskGetor Data Recovery still find its directory tree from hard drive. Why not have a try?

Q: How do I know if I’m addicted?

A: Although there is no definitive answer to this question, there are some important things to consider:

    • Are friends and/or family members concerned about your using, telling you to stop or slow down?
    • Have you been in trouble with the law as a result of your using?
    • Have you ended up in the hospital or ER as a result of your using?
    • Have family or friends given you an ultimatum or set boundaries around your using?
    • Is it affecting your job (being late, not showing up, using on the job, etc.)
    • Are you in financial distress due to your using habit?
    • Have you tried to quit for any amount of time, but are unable to, are afraid to?
    • If you do try to quit, does your body goes through withdrawals (sweats, shaking, vomiting, loss of appetite, loss of sleep, diarrhea, etc.)?

If you answered YES to any of these, then you might have a problem with addiction .

In general- If using is not a problem, then not using (or stopping) should not be a problem.

A: Detoxification . simply put, is withdrawing from alcohol or drugs in a medically managed setting . The purpose of treatment is to medically manage symptoms of withdrawal, which may include: Sleeplessness, anxiety, sweats, nausea, seizures, etc.

There are two types of Detox services: In-patient. and Outpatient .

In-Patient Detox is recommended most often when the client has medical complications, has a history or risk of seizures, or lacks family support. During this process, the client will recuperate in a home-like setting. with 24/7 medical supervision. The client’s stay will range from 3 to 10 days, based on the level of severity of addiction, and other factors.

Outpatient Detox involves an initial visit at the Office by a Physician or Nurse Practitioner, to evaluate the client and initiate treatment and dispense medications. The initial visit is followed by a daily ‘check-in’ at the office, followed by recuperation at home, with a family member present. 75% of clients, on average, are appropriate candidates for this level of treatment.

Q: How do I know if I need to Detox?

A: The decision of whether to undergo Detox is a serious one, and should be made with care by a Physician, or a professional with experience in Drug and Alcohol detoxification protocols. Factors that affect that decision may include: quantity and frequency of use, length of time the person has been using/drinking, medical complications (ie history of seizures) and the age of the person, among other things.

Q: What are the levels of care?

A: The primary levels of care for Chemical Dependency/ Substance Abuse are: Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Individual counseling .

ResidentialTreatment involves staying overnight at a facility for an average of 28 days. The advantage of residential care is that all activities during the client’s stay are centered around getting sober. These may include Detoxification Services, Group and Individual Therapy, 12-step meetings, Medical monitoring, and other programs. Also, for some clients, the isolation from old associations, combined with the inability to obtain alcohol or drugs while in treatment is a necessary requirement. The downside is cost (an average stay at a quality facility can range from $25,000 to $50,000 per month, or more.) Also, many facilities are in another city or state, which makes contact with family difficult, and keeping one’s employment may be an obstacle as well. It’s important to note that Residential Treatment, for some clients, is a necessary beginning to their recovery. From that point, they may transition to the IOP and Continuing Care programs to ensure lasting sobriety.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes many of the crucial elements of Residential treatment. If Detoxification Services are required, it can be done on an Inpatient, or (most likely) Outpatient basis. The Intensive Outpatient Program consists of Group therapy three days per week (usually in the evening, allowing the client to continue to work), as well as Individual Therapy once per week. Our program lasts 10 weeks, followed by a lower level of Continuing Care afterward. One key strength of IOP is that the Client develops strong relationships in accountability with other clients. This is a powerful and lasting tool in staying sober, and isn’t available in Residential or Individual Treatment. Lastly, Family is encouraged to participate in the Client’s recovery, which offers healing for loved ones, as well as the client.

Individual Counseling involves weekly meetings with a Substance Abuse-trained Therapist. Individual Therapy can be instrumental in identifying the nature of addiction, and working to overcome addictive behaviors. However, it falls short in effectiveness for recovery, due to the infrequency of visits, and lack of accountability and structure.

Q: How do I talk to my loved one about treatment if they don’t want it?

A: You cant ‘make’ anyone get treatment if they don’t want it. The best thing to do in this case is to look at your own situation. Have you set boundaries to take care of yourself around their using? Are you being consistent with consequences around these boundaries? Do you have support? (family, al-anon/ nar-anon, therapist)

Addiction affects the whole family. Anyone that loves or lives with an alcoholic/addict has been affected, and often times they need to seek recovery themselves. At Turning Point, we work with family members of addicts and alcoholics to educate them on addiction, and the roles surrounding this disease. We help family members set boundaries. we guide them through the process of building and maintaining a healthy support network.

Q: How do I get started?

A: You will start with an initial visit, which will last about two hours. You can call our office and schedule a time for this appointment. We’ll work to get you in to see us in 24 hours or less. During your visit, we will verify your Insurance benefits and provide financial counseling for your co-insurance requirements. You will meet with a Therapist to talk about your issues, and then you’ll decide on a treatment plan that works best for you. You may be able to start the IOP immediately.

Q: How much does IOP cost?

A: We accept most insurance at TPRC. During your initial visit, your benefits will be verified, and you will be given an estimate of any co-insurance or co-pays that are associated with the program. If you have Medicaid coverage, we recommend our sister facility, Focused Recovery of New Mexico. You may contact them at 505.835.5711.

Q: I’m worried about confidentiality. What information gets shared?

A: Your privacy is a priority at TPRC. All of your Client information, including your name/address info, medical, and therapeutic notes will be kept absolutely confidential, unless we receive written permission from you to share with someone else (ie, your primary physician, an employer, another therapist, etc.)
